Apologize for being silent the past few days. I have been recuperating from the MUMPS! And over my birthday weekend as well ... sigh ....
Speaking of birthdays, an old friend sent me this SMS and I quote:
"...... each new birthday is a chance to begin again, to start over, to take a new grip on life."
I couldn't agree more! Which is why I would normally do my resolutions near/around my birthday instead of on New Year's Eve. (It helps that my birthday falls in February, huh?) When I got this message, I couldn't help but feel more upbeat, that one can "take a new grip on life". Not many people know that I wasn't quite myself after my miscarriage last year; I was upset, angry and dissappointed; but somehow now that it's 2007, it feels that a new start IS possible.
Last month, I went to a fertility specialist who confirmed that I have a mild case of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). It means that I don't ovulate when I'm supposed to, which makes it a bit more difficult to conceive, and that means that I don't produce enough progesterone to support the pregnancy. In a way, this discovery has taken a big burden off my shoulders. All this while I've been harboring guilt that somehow the miscarriage was my fault - as in, something I did, or didn't do... etc etc. (Sounds silly, I know, but those who've been through it will know what I'm talking about). I'm taking the prescribed medication and hopefully this will help me ovulate and conceive.
Alrighty then ... I didn't realize this post was going to be that private... but my policy is: the more people who know what your condition is, the more support you will get... (hopefully...)

AI Update - Men Top 24
Dissappointing show... :(
I was hoping for a "start the season with a bang" show.. but it fell flat! Maybe its just me, but for the life of me I cannot find a favorite to root for yet. Normally, at this stage I have my favorites already. The 'support the underdog' spirit in me, however, is rooting for Sanjaya M., the youngest male contestant at 17 years old. He has really good vocals; the only thing he needs to do is choose the right songs for his age. I am hoping that America gives him another shot.
On another note, I have a new resolution this year (yes, I know it's late for resolutions, but better late than never!) and that is to lose weight! I managed to do this last year, but after my miscarriage, I stopped going to the gym and have been sedentary all this while. So yesterday, I started with a few stretching exercises. Man, I can really feel that my muscles are 'sleeping'! Planning to start with walks around my apartment complex, then go on to do power walking & jogging eventually. Wish me luck!

First Post
First post ever! I have been meaning to start a blog since.. forever, but have not got the inspiration to do so. Finally, a friend encouraged me to start (thanks Tipah!).
Hmm.. what should I start with? It's the long holidays here (Chinese New Year) and I am stuck at home due to lack of funds to go Cuti-Cuti Malaysia. I had a couple of forays into the shopping malls -Ikea yesterday, and Sunway Pyramid today - and both outlets look like they have had a good turnout in spite of certain shops being closed due to the holidays. I am going to avoid M*dV#lley like the plague though; it is tough as hell getting into the mall as getting a parking spot!
What else... oh yeah.. I am looking forward to the top 24 studio auditions of American Idol. I have not shortlisted my favorites yet (although I do have eyes on a couple of people). But I do have to say that I was really dissappointed with the judges' last male contestant choice. I mean, Sundance?? Come on you guys, Thomas performed better in Hollywood week (not to mention he has this sexy smooth voice a la Lionel Richie). Besides that, CSI Season 7 is due to start this Wednesday. The 2-hr premier episode looks promising.
