Alhamdulillah, I'm now just past the 16th week of my pregnancy (that's the 4-mth mark for you laypeople). I will be going for my appointment on Friday; they are supposed to come back to me on the results of my blood test. (I hate test results!) At my appointment last month my dr remarked on my elevated protein level - on its own, its not that serious, but coupled with high blood pressure could mean pre-eclampsia - which I am worried about even though according to the books, the symptoms don't usually appear til after week 20. The baby, however, was doing well, oblivious to the goings-on in its mama's world.
Other pregnancy symptoms... let's see... I am still having morning sickness (vomiting, mostly) but not necessarily in the morning, mind you, so I don't understand why they call it that! Other than that, and tiredness - I am missing a lot of my 10pm shows lately - I am perfectly alright.
Other big news on the homefront... my husband has FINALLY started his online training... which means he is one step closer to becoming second officer on the 737 fleet. We are hoping that he will get there by July at the latest, so by the time baby comes his salary will be stable. Just found out that MAS pilots' benefits do not include maternity benefits for the wife.. so costs of our baby's delivery come November will have to be out-of-pocket.
As I mentioned, I've been missing a lot of my shows lately, due to tiredness (I am normally asleep by 10!). Trying not to miss American Idol this week as it's the finals... I am so hoping that Jordin will win... personally I am not surprised that Melinda got booted out last week.
Finally, I'm hoping to be able to catch Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End on Friday.. if I do get tickets, I will let you know how it was!

Lakisha's out of American Idol...
... and I can't say I'm surprised. Looking back, all "big" girls seem to have been voted out by week 5. I guess the surprise is that she is still there at the top 4. I'd have thought, based on performance alone that Blake would be the one to go. He gave a "typical" Blake performance - Randy even mentioned that the beat boxing is getting a bit old.
Personally, I'm rooting for Melinda and Jordin for the semi finals. And I won't be surprised if Jordin wins. I mean, I love Melinda, but Jordin has been improving A LOT lately.. and she seemed more comfortable and confident up on stage now. Well, there's only one week to go, then we'll see. Hopefully America votes for talent.

Question of the day....
I just felt like throwing this question out there.
Why is it that there always seems to be a line at the ladies' toilet in shopping malls? It gets really bad especially at long weekends and public holidays. I mean, there I was, trying very hard to control my pee (being pregnant makes it that much harder) and there is a LINE in front of me. More often than not, I've had to either: a) find another ladies' on another floor, which hopefully, does not have a line, or b) just wait in line. Sigh...
At least at KLCC there is this paying toilet (you pay RM2 for a FANTASTIC public toilet) on the ground or 1st floor, if I'm not mistaken. But it seems that nowadays most people don't mind paying as long as they don't need to queue! So maybe there needs to be more toilets in malls? I dunno... hmmm...

New addition(s) to the family!
Sorry for the long silence. Just found out a few weeks ago that I was pregnant! Due to my previous miscarriage, my dr has put me under 'high risk' until a couple of weeks ago. This meant, getting progesterone shots, no stress, and bed rest for 5 weeks. I have had bad (so-called) morning sickness this time around, so I am really hoping this means that the baby decides to stick around. Alhamdulillah, I'm now at 11 weeks and doing well.
The other big news is that my sister has just given birth to a little baby boy last Monday, 16 April at 1.57am. Baby weighed in at 2.2kg. It was a really easy delivery (only 1 hr in labor room) and except for a case of jaundice last weekend, mom & baby are doing fine. So I am now being 'mama long' to Ahmad Zayn Azrai bin Fairuz. At one week old, Azrai is a really smart baby. He knows when he is being carried and when he is being put down on his cot! He does this thing where he peeks out of his lashes in his sleep just to check if he is alone or being carried. He is being totally breastfed, and has unfortunately inherited our family's 'hungry-angry' gene. Will try to upload some pics when I have some.

Grey's Anatomy - Season 3
I'm baaaaack!!
And can't wait for Season 3 Grey's Anatomy on 8tv. Hopefully I will be able to stay awake long enough for the show to start! (10.45pm, Wednesdays). I am a Grey's fan definitely, but I am so not amused with Derek's treatment of Addison. In a previous episode, he mentioned that he wanted to try again, but his heart is obviously not in it (and Meredith is smart to stay away from that confused man - no matter how McDreamy he is).
I love the cast and characters of the show. Even obnoxious Alex is starting to grow on me! I wonder how Izzie copes with the death of Denny. Bailey seems to handle motherhood as well as she handles all five of her "suck ups". And let's not forget George. I wonder what will become of his character this season. Started out nervous and blabbering, he gained a lot of confidence after the "flying solo in the elevator" episode (fans will know what I'm talking about) and the poor thing really needs a break. And I also wonder where the Christina-Burke relationship will go.
So... don't forget to tune into Grey's Anatomy on 8tv Wednesdays (coz if I miss an episode, I will definitely be asking you guys what happened!).

My "Heroes" theory - spoilers up ahead!
Sorry for the long silence. A lot of things have been happening, tak sempat nak update. But you know what they say, better late than never right? So here I am, back again.
During my hiatus period, I have been watching Heroes episodes 9-18 (don't continue to read this post coz I am going to try and theorize the show). I sort of figured out who's who, and their roles in the so-called 'destruction of NYC'. OK, so I figured that there are several key players:
1. "The Company" (that Claire Bennet's stepdad is working for)
2. Linderman
3. The Petrelli family (whom I dub as "Claire's Protectors")
So here is the background as far as I understand it:
Claire Bennet was given to Mr. Bennet as an 'assignment' by "The Company", and he was supposed to have returned her to them when she started manifesting her powers. The trouble is, I believe that Mr Bennet really loves Claire like his real daughter, and wants her to be protected. Which is why he goes to such great lengths at protecting her secret (for example, Zach and 'the quarterback's memories were removed once he realized they knew what was going on). I believe the whole plot of rest of the season will be protecting Claire from The Company. Thus the tagline of the show, Save the cheerleader, save the world.
On the other hand, I still don't know how Niki/Jessica Sanders and her family ties into this whole thing. I know Linderman sometimes uses Jessica as a hired assassin to do his dirty job, but other than that... ?
BTW, I still don't get what Hiro's dad's arrangement with The Company is.
Anyone have any good Heroes theory? Feel free to post them here!

So... What is it do men want, anyway?
The discussion on the radio station this morning was pretty interesting. They had the host(s) (?) of the TV show What Women Want as their guest. She mentioned that men wanted nothing more than being loved, getting a little bit of TLC and being fed. The men, on the other hand, mentioned that men wanted nothing more from women than obedience! (Gasp!)
Well, in a way I sort of understand what the men say. However, as a modern woman, I would not blindly follow my man. As a daughter and a wife respectively, yes, a certain level of obedience is expected; but... ladies, come on... would you be 'obedient' to a boyfriend? I suppose the definition of 'obedient' differs from person to person, but personally, I feel that a boyfriend is just that - a boy who is a friend, nothing more, nothing less. You have no 'ties' to him; thus, you're not obligated to follow his 'instructions' to the letter. That would make him a most controlling boyfriend, and you wouldn't want that, would you?
As for females point of view... I sort of agree with what she said up there, the big question is though, is how you do them. For me, a relationship is good and healthy when both parties' needs and wants (not just the man's, or just the woman's, for that matter) are met. (Hey, women love to be fed also!) I also believe that a woman can be strong and subservient at the same time. Sometimes, your husband's air muka is more important that your needs at that time, so give him a little break. But make sure he returns the favor! :)
